How do I book?

What happens after I submit a booking request?

We will be in touch with you within 24 hours to find a suitable date and time for your booking. If we need to, we will ask a few more questions about the tattoo you are wanting or will agree a date and time for you to pop in for a consultation. Pricing and deposit details will be discussed and given to you as well.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, a deposit of $150 is required to secure your booking. This deposit is non-refundable but goes towards your tattoo i.e. is taken off the total price.

What if I need to re-schedule or cancel?

In general, at least 72 hours of notice is required to re-schedule to allow a some time to try fill your spot. If correct notice is given, your deposit goes towards the new re-booked date. If less notice is given, in general, the deposit is forfeited, and a new deposit will be required for a new booking.

What is Tap-Out Tuesday?

Tap-Out Tuesday is an incredible opportunity to get as many tattoos as you want and/or as time allows in one session, all for one fixed price. Please visit TAP-OUT TUESDAY on our website to see all the ins and outs. It is unique to our studio and unbelievable value for all ink lovers. We are truly proud to be the home of Tap-Out Tuesday!

Can I buy a gift voucher?

Yes! Who doesn't like getting tattoos for presents?! Email us at thehighgroundstudio@gmail.com to purchase a gift voucher of any value you'd like. We can arrange a courier or the voucher can be picked up from our studio. Alternatively, just pop in to see us.

Do you have a minimum?

A minimum of $150 applies. Although this may seem unreasonable for the smallest of tattoos, we need to take into account the set up and pack down times and procedures, hygiene procedures that need to take place, all materials etc.

Can I bring anyone to my appointment?

Yes, you can. Your appointment is about YOU and we want you to be comfortable! Rather than bringing the whole crew though, please select one special person to come along with you as your artist still needs to concentrate to ensure you get the best quality work.

Is there anything I need to know before my appointment?

To prepare for your appointment and minimise the level of pain you experience, there is a few things you need to do:

1. Come to your appointment well rested.

2. Have a decent meal at least 1 hour prior to your appointment.

3. Bring and drink plenty of water and bring sugary snacks.

4. Bring comfortable clothing and especially, wear something that will allow the area where you are getting a tattoo to be EASILY accessible (such as a tie up bikini for side thigh pieces)

There is also a few things to avoid and NOT do that will make things way worse on the day:

1. DON'T consume alcohol or take drugs for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

2. DON'T come in if you are sick.

What do I need to know after I get my tattoo?

Detailed after care instructions will be given to you once the tattoo is done. Please follow these to ensure the best possible healing results. Something we want to note here is two things people often wonder:

1. DON'T go swimming (anywhere - ocean, river, bathtub, pools) for two weeks after you get your tattoo or until it is fully healed.

2. You CAN go to the gym but avoid wearing tight clothes directly on the tattoo or using equipment which will directly rub on your tattoo.
